Ran by third generation coffee planter Sharan, this beautiful estate is Immersed in fertile and lush nature, and spread over 145 hectares of land. The coffee plantation is located on the foot hills of the Western Ghats, near Sakleshpur and Belur regions in Karnataka. ‘Salawara’ literally means string of blessings. Salawara estate was established by the Britishers in the late 1880’s. The coffee crop from salawara estate is shade grown and inter-cropped with pepper, areca nut, oranges and silver oak trees which brings in the perfect balance of richness and heritage. Surrounded by five man made lakes, Salawara estate practices sustainable irrigation which cultivates rich flora and fauna which interacts beneath the earth, providing intense depth and flavor to the coffee bean. The estate has been with the YDN groups for the past three generations.
